About Ascot Beds And Furniture’s History

In 1991 the Dussing Family started Bargains Galore, a small pawn shop in Alberton. The idea of this being the start of bigger things never even crossed their minds then. With the opening of a second business, Foam & Mattress King, they realized that more extraordinary things were awaiting them.

The business reached numerous heights, which allowed them to open a branch at Rand Ridge Mall in the North of Johannesburg. The closing of the two small shops led to the successful opening of a new shop called Ascot Bedding and Furniture in Alberton Lifestyle Center. Rand Ridge Mall shop later moved to bigger premises in Woodmead Commercial Park.

Ascot Beds then expanded to Montana in Pretoria North. In 2012 Ascot Beds took over Times Furniture in Heidelberg and combined it with the more excellent Ascot Group, already doing business for 21 years. The next step was to go National, and a new shop opened in Port Elizabeth. Ascot beds also started a contracting division which supplies mattresses and furniture to the hotels and guesthouse industries, game lodges and interior decorators.

Ascot beds have been in operation since 1991 with an operational warehouse distribution Head office in Steeldale Johannesburg.

• 2020 due to Covid 19, Ascot Beds online started due to the need for beds in lock down
• Due to online traffic, our site was revamped to handle more customers
• Expanded to selling on Makro
• Teamed up with “die Bou Ou” en “Droom troue” for show time and ads
• You tube info clips posted
• Our website is upgraded to accept card payments via PayFast
• Then started selling to Takealot
• Offering Mobicred for credit options
• Deliveries are done Nation wide
• PayFlex was introduced since we have grown in web traffic and online presence
